Pro-life | Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
100%% Pro-Life voting record for 12 years as an Indiana State Senator |
No | In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing defense spending?
No | In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
In this time of expanded global terrorism I do not support cutting defense spending but support a budget that requires the DOD to cut waste. |
Yes | Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
I support campaign finance disclosure. Citizens deserve to know who or what groups are financing their campaigns. |
Yes | Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
Yes | Do you support alternatives to incarceration for certain non-violent offenders such as mandatory counseling or substance abuse treatment?
Yes | Do you support mandatory minimum sentences for non-violent drug offenders?
The alternative's I would support are very limited. Non-violent offenders, DO NOT include those who manufacture or deal in hard drugs such as heroin or meth, cocaine and other related drugs. Dealers who sell such drugs are responsible for the deaths of many. I would support allowing judges some discretion in sentencing in a case by case basis on lower drug offenses. |
No | Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes | Do you support lowering taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
No | Do you support providing tax incentives to businesses for the purpose of job creation?
The tax incentives for business should be limited to an across the board tax cut. Lower corporate and capital gains taxes and eliminate over-bearing Federal regulations. No other direct assistance should be provided to any business in a free market economy. |
No | Do you support requiring states to implement education reforms in order to be eligible for competitive federal grants? |
Yes | Do you support building the Keystone XL pipeline?
No | Do you support funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)?
No | Do you support increased regulations on the hydraulic fracturing ("fracking") industry? |
No | Do you believe that human activity is contributing to climate change?
No | Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions? |
Yes | Do you support requiring illegal immigrants to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
All Illegal immigrants must return to the country of origin and wait their turn behind those immigrating according to law. No benefits should be awarded to anyone here illegally. Tougher sanctions should be placed on cities and business that hide or employ illegals. |
Yes | Do you support targeting suspected terrorists outside of official theaters of conflict?
Yes | Should the U.S use military force in order to prevent governments hostile to the United States from possessing a nuclear weapon?
As a last option. The U.S. should within a reasonable time frame attempt to peacefully halt any hostile government from developing nuclear weapons. The Obama administration has not, by any reasonable standard met that criteria, but has fully guaranteed that Iran will not only develop but most likely sell such weapons in the future, to other nations and terrorist groups. |
Yes | Do you support allowing individuals to divert a portion of their Social Security taxes into personal retirement accounts? |

While there are several priorities facing not only the people of Indiana but America; none of the others would be possible to solve unless we first protect our National Security. These issues including Islamic Terrorism and Immigration both are somewhat related. Today's open borders policy not only allows non-violent illegals to enter but terrorist, violent drugs gangs and others with ill intentions. This must be stopped and reversed. The third priority is all veteran's. I pledge to work diligently on all issues facing today's veterans and their families. |
